This park is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. They don't call it the crown jewel of the state park system for nothing. There's everything from short nature walks to the longer Carmel Hill Loop Trail (5 miles; 2-3 hours to complete). All of them take you to vistas with stunning views of the crystal turqouise waters and sharp cliffs.
Pro tip: It's a short ride away from downtown Carmel. They also charge a $10 entry fee per vehicle. And you might encounter a few seals or sea lions on your hike.
For any "Big Little Lies" fans, be sure to keep making your way down Highway 1 to Bixby Creek Bridge, the gateway into Carmel. This is one of the most photographed spots along the Big Sur coast, so try and park on the north side bridge if you want to hop out and take a few photos!

Once you're done at the Aquarium, we suggest you take a walk along Fisherman's Wharf. Taste clam chowder, go whale-watching, explore unique shops, and experience the sights and sounds of Monterey's past.
The 17-Mile Drive is a scenic road on the coast which passes through golf courses and mansions along Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove. The cost to enter the gated community is $10.50 per vehicle, and the pass is valid for the entire day.
From Monterrey, drive to the Pacific Grove gate entrance of the 17-Mile Drive which can easily be found on Google Maps. The Drive consists of 17 scenic stops and will loop you back into Monterrey. If you'd like to eat along the drive within Pebble Beach, the entrance fee is deducted from your restaurant bill.
Depending on how many stops you want to see, we'd recommend 2-2.5. hours for this drive. Happy sightseeing!
Carmel is famous for its whimsical, storybook-like cottages. Take a leisurely walk through the neighborly sidestreets to admire these cute little homes. Just remember to click your heels and come back to the present when your fairy tale is through.
Carmel Bakery has been around for over a hundred years! It's known for its giant pretzels, cannoli, and for having the best coffee in town. The little historic bakery also makes breakfast burritos in the morning, and sandwiches in the afternoon. If you still have room, the ice cream is not to miss.
If you're like us, nothing beats watching the sun set slowly over the horizon. Temperatures do drop, so bring a sweater and blanket so you don't catch cold right before the big day!

Take a drive along the coast and check out Ventana Big Sur. Situated on an impressive 160 acres, the luxury resort sits hillside above the famous Highway 1, boasting breathtaking views of Big Sur’s Pacific coastline below. There is no better place to unwind while sipping on a cocktail and taking in the distant ocean views.
Nearby is Pfeiffer Beach, a great hiking spot famous for its "keyhole arch" rock formation. Parking is $12 and well worth the views.
Carmel Mission is a must-visit! Built in 1771, it's known for its lush gardens and stunning architecture. It's open for both mass and visitors who wish to stroll through and take in the experience.

If you're into theatre, you'll love this local gem which features plays in a small and intimate setting. There's not a bad seat in the house, which is also known for a delectable menu (we hear their smoked salmon alfredo, crisp fish and chips, and home style fried chicken dinner are to dramatically pretend-die for).
